About The Unslain

Their sound moves effortlessly between raw vocals, deep screams, groovy riffs, captivating melodies and heavy breakdowns. Complemented by a subtle polymetric approach, their music remains both catchy, groovy and relentless.

Their 2018 album debut, We Will Battle, showcased a more classic sound.

“When we released our first album, we sat down together and looked at The Unslain and the direction we wanted to take with future releases. That was when the idea of ‘Melodic Modern Metal’ was born.”

This marked a turning point in their musical style. Following We Will Battle, The Unslain won the Audience Award at the Dutch Wacken Metal Battle in 2019 and released several singles in 2020 and 2022. In 2022, they signed with Rexius Records, continuing their creative journey.

The result was their second full-length album, Descending. A sold-out release show followed, along with performances across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, including a show at AFAS Live with Pantera.

With new guitarist Gianfranco D'Alessandro joining the ranks in 2026, The Unslain are now focused on their third studio album, scheduled for release in 2027.
